gentle pilates

I have to say that out of all of the exercise and activities I have gotten involved in, to help me stay busy and healthy, this class has to rank right up there as one of the best.

It has helped my mind, body and spirit.  It really does help.

For your body you slowly push your body to be more flexible and strengthen muscle groups that are not always used (as well as those that are)  It is a great core work-out that slowly builds strength, flexibility and increases the blood flow to the muscles worked.  Only after a few classes I can feel a difference in myself.

It is a great workout for the mind.  You are focusing on breathing and you are focusing on specific movements and you are focusing on posture.  While that seems very complicated, you slowly begin to be able to handle all three things.  The mental workout gives you a greater understanding of your body and keeps the mind sharp.

Spiritually pilates is uplifting because you are feeling better because of the workout, you are more aware of how the muscles are workig and are definateluy more aware of your posture and pose.  It uplifts my spirits because it is a social activity, moreso than a regular gym workout or a workout at home.

Whatever you do to stay active, mentally and physically, do it with all the effort you can muster.  When it is time to stop, your body will let you know.  Just don't let your mind quit on you.

Good Luck
